Radiological Dispersal Device (RDD) detonation debris is detected near CNN Headquarters by the MDI Radiological Surveillance System statically deployed in downtown Atlanta. Real-time remote visualization of sensor activity indicates presence of large moving plume. Radiological situation awareness is created by sensor activity analysis. Resulting information used to establish a safe perimeter zone, evacuation routes, decontaminating station sites, fire equipment approach routes, non-sensor equipped 1st responder escort, and ongoing 'ground truth' sensor data for plume movement modelers. |
