The Homeland Defense Symposium 2005

Date:
  October 24-27, 2005
Location:
  Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
Role:
  Exhibitor, presenter
Summary:

This Symposium, which featured an exhibition and internationally-known guest speakers, focused on Homeland Defense issues including terrorism, CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) threat, intelligence sharing, and the national first responder agenda. Senior leadership of both U.S. Northern Command and NORAD, national political figures, and administration officials spoke on these issues.

Dr. Robert McFadden, CEO of Mobile Detect, delivered a presentation called "Role of CBRN Surveillance Network in Homeland Defense".

Mobile Detect exhibited its "CBRN Surveillance Network". The technology was demonstrated with a replica of the pilot project installed in the City of Colorado Springs.

Specifically an ATS Radiation Sensor was mounted on a mock traffic signal pole, connected to a Detection Unit (DU). This DU was connected to both the city-owned Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) equipment, and to the CBRN Surveillance Network server, and graphical Command Center Manager.
